Our learning programmes are designed to meet the latest Skills for HealthNational Occupational Standards (where available), ensuring your top-notch education in small, supportive groups of no more than 6-8 learners in

face to face classroom settings.

Nigel Franks

Hypnotherapy EMDR & Reiki

With over 40 years of clinical and education experience in the NHS and 20 years as a therapist, the Leeds Hypnotherapy Academy (LHA) was founded by Nigel in 2016. This was with the commitment to making learning and treatment accessible to a diverse population, delivering client-centred, ethical learning and care.

Nigel holds a certificate and diploma from the internationally respected London College of Clinical Hypnosis, with General Hypnotherapy Register Senior and Advanced Practitioner status. He has Reiki Master Teacher qualifications from Taggart King and Reiki Evolution with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) qualifications from the John Dewar School. Nigel's skills encompass hypnotherapy, EMDR and Reiki, so offering a comprehensive approach to well-being.

Nigel opted to maintain a small, comfortable setting for the LHA which fosters a welcoming domestic atmosphere; it also ensures services remain affordable for learners and those seeking treatment. The environment creates a space where all can feel comfortably supported through their learning journey or treatment.

The overall mission is to empower individuals through healing and education.

As a qualified Chartered Accountant with many years of corporate experience, Sam is used to the challenges of highly pressured and stressful environments. Her passion for helping people led her to study hypnotherapy and after gaining her Diploma with the Leeds Hypnotherapy Academy, she established her own successful business Succeed With Hypnotherapy. Since qualifying, Sam has worked with both corporate and individual private clients and teaches modules for the Academy.

Alan Wormald

BSc PGCertEd Diploma in Health Services Management

Alan has an extensive career in sciences, research, education (teaching in senior schools and further education colleges) and the NHS. He was a trades union representative for the Society of Radiographers, representing his professional colleagues and has a broad knowledge of adminstration and HR issues.
